How to Activate Your Mint Mobile Phone Service

If you’re considering switching to Mint Mobile, it’s important to learn how to activate your phone service and begin using it as soon as possible. The process will take less than five minutes, but you’ll need your phone service number, the number of the phone you want to use, and the last four digits of your Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number in order to get started.

Getting Started

Now that you’ve decided on a service plan, it’s time to get started. Click Activate Plan in your MintMobile account and enter your information. Purchasing service 2022

Launched in June 2016, MintMobile provides service to its users through a Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) program, allowing customers to purchase data plans and cell phones from more than 30 different carriers. You may also be asked for additional information, including credit card number, card security code (CVV2), number of lines/devices you would like set up on your account, and name on the credit card used to pay for services. Choosing how you’ll pay for wireless internet

Wireless Internet or Wi-Fi is a cheaper alternative than paying your monthly cell phone bill. When you purchase a mobile internet package through one of our carriers and purchase minutes through them, you pay a flat rate for each minute regardless of how much data you use. Sometimes just buying basic wireless internet can be more expensive in some cases because it doesn’t include voice and text service. If you don’t plan on using your smartphone as a primary form of communication and want to save money, consider purchasing Wi-Fi minutes instead of calling or texting each other on a cell phone network. Simply insert your SIM card from MintMobile into your device and select Activate in our control panel.


YOUR MOBILE NUMBER When you purchase your SIM card from us, it comes with a pre-installed phone number. When you activate your service, we’ll text a verification code to that number and as long as we receive it, your service will be active and ready for use. Pretty simple! In addition, not all smartphones and tablets are compatible with their service. You should also confirm that you have a device that operates on GSM networks and works with T-Mobile or MetroPCS towers.
